Nico is IT-specialist. Hij houdt zich o.a. bezig met het implementeren en onderhouden van diverse software-systemen voor MAF wereldwijd. MAF gebruikt deze systemen voor de planning van de vluchten, de urenregistratie, facturering en rappotage.
Daarnaast werkt Nico veel aan het realiseren van noodstroomsystemen en zonnepaneelsystemen. In Papoea is de stroomvoorziening een stuk minder betrouwbaar dan in Nederland. Om wel te kunnen blijven terwijl de stroom is uitgevallen, zijn er goede backup-stroomvoorzieningen nodig, Hier komt Nico zijn Elektrotechniek opleiding goed van pas!
Nico is dus geen piloot of Bijbelvertaler. Hij faciliteert technisch het werk dat nodig is om het werk van MAF in Papoea mogelijk te maken. Hierdoor kunnen piloten en partners waar MAF mee samenwerkt zoals Dokters en Bijbelvertalers zich richtten op het werk waar zei goed in zijn!
